Testing our GSP Knowledge - Turn Poor Writing into Good Writing

Good evening everyone! Recently, our collective group was tasked with updating and fixing three separate paragraphs with all sorts of grammatical errors in them. This puts our knowledge on our Grammar, Spelling, and Punctuation skills to the test, along with a few miscellaneous errors within as well. While this was the main objective of the assignment, I also want to take the opportunity to see how I compared to my fellow peers as well. I know for sure a few of my changes may seem a bit unnecessary or not needed, but it personally felt right to have these changes included, so I would love to hear your feedback for how you re-write these sentences. Anyways, thank you for taking the time to read my blog, apologies if it was short, but we'll be back with a longer one soon enough. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Key:

  • Bold = Spelling and/or word Change / Punctuation /

  • ~ a  = Removed Word

  • HL = Capitalization

  • Italics = Added word

Saturday was a glorios, ~special~ day, ~so so~ perfect for our slow walks through central park. we walked ~and walked and walked and walked~ for ours; It was mid-october and the grounds, once covered with green leaves, were now littered with red, yellow, and brown leaves. The air was crisp, and smelled of the onset of winter.~,  ~The~ people was bundled in layers of fall clothing... i myself had on a t-shirt sweater and light jacket.

sometimes i get depressed~...~ when that happens, I like to confyde in my friends, especially my best friend. she’s ~tall, thin, red-headed~ (Removing this because it’s supposed to be about why she’s a good friend, and talking about appearance doesn’t make sense.) an outgoing, smart, and sweet person. She always know knows exactly what 2 say ~2 me~ when I'm feeling down, ~its~ almost like she can read my toughts. i know I ~prolly~ shouldn't always rely on her to help ~to~ talk me threw through my most depressed times. ~cuz~ that's really just too ~too~ much pressure on one person who is just as young as me. ~and~ She prolly probably needs her own shoulder to cry on ~herself~, especially when she’s having relationship issues, which I know we can all relate to. The more I think about her our friendship, the more I ~really really~ realize how special my bestie best friend is to me.
